Eddie set a standard for musical transparency, spacial imaging and transparency. Alex set forth to follow that path, build on the DNA of the new Eddie LE, to create a bigger statement. Alex represents our ultimate expression of the point-source audiophile loudspeaker!
No don’t get us wrong. Alex and the Eddie LE coexist. There is no sibling rivalry between these two musical artists. But there are differences.
Alex utilizes 4 RM6 Mid-Woofers instead of a single RM7. The result is the ability to move over twice the air while each driver weighs less than an RM7. That makes the RM6 driver faster to match flawlessly to the F118. It is also 3 dB more efficient!
And then there is the new hybrid crossover. It has almost twice the parts of the Eddie LE. With more control of the slopes and integration of the drivers, spacial imaging is sharper and with more dynamic headroom ever! Point-to-point wiring with proprietary silver coated multi-gauge wire with silver solder, along with expensive hand-matched Mundorf Supreme and Clarity capacitors assure a transparent sound.
There is some extraordinary engineering that goes into the cabinet as well. Wall thicknesses and bracing are engineered without compromise. Try a knuckle wrap on that. [Be careful not to hurt your hand.] And risers with IsoAcoustics GAIA II Speaker Isolation feet keeps Alex planted on the floor while isolating him for superior bass and imaging. All of this delivers an overall organic result – to deliver you-are-there performance levels – whether classical, jazz, rock or movies.
Alex is available to audition in Southern California. He will be available for audition later this year at Maryland and Australia.
